Does waxing hurt?
Most people will experience mild to moderate discomfort with waxing. An experienced esthetician working with high quality wax will be able to make your waxing session as comfortable as possible.
How long does my hair need to be for waxing?
To insure that the entire hair is removed from the root ¼” to ½” of growth is best. The amount of time that will take to achieve varies, but for most people 3-6 weeks growth is recommended.
Is waxing safe for me?
Waxing is safe in general, however waxing is not recommended for diabetics, people with cancer or compromised immune systems, infectious diseases, or any skin disorder. Certain medications are also contraindicated for waxing. If you are using Accutane, Retin-A, Differin, hydrocortisone, alpha or beta hydroxy acids, or any other topical medication that thins your skin or makes you light sensitive you should not be waxed. Always inform your esthetician if you use or apply any medication.
